Stein: Just a house

Common architectural elements of three houses in Stein, Austria, such as rough masonry walls and steep rooflines, are juxtaposed with ink patterns that resemble dissolving stonework or brickwork. The flow of ink evokes deep roots of these structures, reaching far into the past. To emphasize the importance of the passage of time, the pieces are created on 1960s timesheets found at the Krems flea market.

This series was created during my 11-week residency in Krems, Austria (AiR Lower Austria).
